DOC ROSS

Recon did not have a permanent medic,they were assigned to us by the Battalion Aid Station.Doc Ross always volunteered to go with us.He was not only a medic but was our friend,he carried an M-16 and was not afraid to use it to help us out,he carried machine gun ammunition,when we needed more,dug his own fox holes,and went on ambush patrols with us,these are things he did not have to do.If you needed someone to talk to he was always there.The only thing I didn't like about him was he made us take those god awful malaria horse pills.

There are two very important people, that played large roles in Recons everyday survival, Rick Doyal and Doc Ross.
